The project "XIT" bears witness to current reflections of collectif_fact
linked to spaces, signs – mediatic or cinematic – which deal
with danger or disaster. Their intervention reveals the hermetic aspect
of the museum Rath, much more spaced in the past thanks to openings on the
outside. The aesthetics of the exit door is borrowed from the “in
situ” models which are hidden behind fake walls in order to harmonise
the inside universe of the museum and to detach it from any disaster scenario.
collectif_fact highlights what is hidden, thus giving a kind of nobility
to this exit door isolated in the dark. The "E" of “EXIT”
has disappeared, cut by the angle of the room. The door is knowingly set
on this exact spot. A disposal that is ironic about a scenario of emergency
to which this solution would not be of any help.
