Plattform video shows an urban district built only with architectural plans. Each floor of the buildings is therefore represented by its plan on which also appears its furniture. This space is then populated with stylized characters, which look like plastic figurines. These characters are frozen in everyday life behaviours in relation to their graphic environment. For example, a man takes his bath above a drawn bathtub.
In order to divert the representative function of the model, we introduced a kinetic element, the snow, which is going to transform space. Indeed, progressively, the space is covered with snow and eventually disappears. Furthermore, the wintry sound atmosphere underlines the camera’s passages from the inside to the outside of the buildings.
The amalgam of these elements questions the status of virtual architecture. Architecture produces, among other things, space, can a virtual space produce a real architecture then?
