This project is a maze measuring around 6.30m by 7.20m and with a height of 2.00m, which is realized entirely using simple wire fencing. This installation is in the tradition of the plant mazes that can be found in many parks and gardens. But its appearance is unique; far from resembling the traditional neatly trimmed hedges, it seems more like prison life or an animal’s cage. In an era where the media often makes use of the image of imprisonment, be that “Guantanamo” or camps full of refugees waiting to be processed, our project questions imprisonment whilst connecting it with the game where players have only one rule, finding the exit.
