The installation “I’m gonna be…” consists of a red carpet on which can be read the phrase:
I’m gonna be a movie star
And I’m gonna learn to drive a car
Just watch my dreams come true
This was somethin’ I was born to do
Playing with perspective, the carpet gets narrower and narrower and ends up measuring only a few centimeters. Success becomes ironic, the American dream and the star system is derided. This red carpet has no purpose; it leads straight to the wall. An installation that mocks the vacuity of external signs of wealth and the persistence of a certain stereotypical vision of the world of Hollywood.
