BUBBLECARS, 2004

The "bubblecars" loop video depicts a road which disappears into the distance and is illuminated by street lights, one of which is flickering to increase the “sus- pense”. Although the space is created with the minimum of elements required for its understanding, it still conveys the artificial imagery of Hollywood. The event that will take place will therefore be short, absurd and unreal even though making reference to catastrophic films. In this way, it creates a gap between the expectations that this space can generate and what happens if the latter is not stereotypical. This video is a game which makes the language of the cinema apparent. By displacing a known pattern, we expose its mechanism.
