The prefabricated garden house BBH Star Art. Nr 7133321 is a standard model, manufactured on a large scale. If we follow step by step the directions for its construction, we obtain the exact copy of what was previously seen in the catalogue.
From this standard garden house, we proceeded to a shift that is linked to the construction logic of 3D computer generated images. This means that, first, we constructed the model, and then we applied the mapping (colours, materials, etc.) on it. With a simple ‘drag & drop’, we insert a mistake in the construction process. What then becomes visible is a play on volumes and plans.
The house is stuck in the wall but no sign of degradation is visible. The physical space undergoes the same properties as virtual space. By inferring with the construction process, we obliterate its standard aspect and therefore are faced with a singular house which gives entry to a fantasy world.
