    Architecture Invisible

    Each video explores a specific location, often an overlooked cultural or social site, to find the sense of a place. The architecture becomes a living reality evolving far from the precision of its original design. Be it through the collapse of a civilisation or erosion by nature or just being no longer relevant.

    Video artists in line up so far : Emily Richardson, Anne-Charlotte Finel, Catriona Leahy, Vincent Ceraudo, David Lewandowski, Yelena Popova, Sujin Lim, Simon Senn, Katie Goodwin & collectif_fact.

    Doors open at 6pm for drinks and looped work by Catriona Leahy. The screening starts at 6:30pm. There will be an interval.

    For more than 30 years, the Swiss Cultural Foundation Pro Helvetia has supported the publication of contemporary artists’ initial monographs with the Collection Cahiers d’Artistes. The archive will be presented during the “Extended Cahiers” exhibition, initiated by Pro Helvetia Moscow and realised in collaboration with the GROUND Art Centre in Moscow.

    On the occasion of the opening,  the curators of “Extended Cahiers”, Madeleine Amsler and Patrick Gosatti as well as Denis Pernet, Delphine Chapuis Schmitz and Gilles Furtwängler will exchange ideas and debate approaches related to the contemporary archive and to performative practices with artists and curators based in Moscow.

    The Swiss association White Frame and independent distributor Hamaca presents ‘Signs of Representation’, a co-curatorial video art program showcasing selected productions from Switzerland and Spain. These two organisations established in Basel and in Barcelona have entered into a dialogue through the curated work of Chantal Molleur from White Frame and Albert Alcoz representing Hamaca. The two programs explore the different ideological and artistic concerns of the artists. The results are varied in forms conveying the multiple possibilities of what the medium has to offer technologically for the various images and sounds represented in these productions.
